What is your guys's opinion on the current market, when do you think it improves?

After going through and witnessing a brutal 9 month job hunt and finally getting a role even though if it's a paycut it was substantial, only my rate of savings went down but my lifestyle is still unaffected, I feel thankful and a little worried as well about the future.

According to the FED, in the USA, they are saying the rate of layoffs is low and the amount of job opportunities is low as well and they're slowly reducing too. They say that it's becoming harder to switch roles as well leading to candidates following stuff like job hugging etc.

After witnessing, constant hiring freezes, sudden budget slashes when they were supposed to convert to an offer etc, I feel terrified as a 2023 grad who faced pay cut and two startup layoffs this year one in December 2024 and one in July 2025, I'm lost for words about how the future will look like for the upcoming grads and in my case these were due to bad financials but I'm happily employed at an enterprise product based company which I feel lucky for.

How are you guys coping with this future and I don't think it's AI, it hasn't helped me more than 20 percent and often times needs a lot of refactoring since every organization writes code differently. How are you guys preparing for the future? Any ideas or strategies would help me as well as I do t want to be this helpless again, at one point me and my family as well ( my dad is jobless right now but find freelance gigs) were contemplating suicide since we both were the only breadwinners, I decided to lock i. N and go for a paycut instead of waiting around and my interviews took time as well until I emerge victorious with two offers one from Deloitte and one more from my current firm where I joined and the Deloitte hr told me she would fight for me and it took me a long time to reach this far..I'm worried about the future, had my job search reached four more months, the repercussions would have been very bad, would've had to go into debt just to be able to pay rent and our food in our mouths. My father's earnings aren't that high it's just enough and he's trying his best to find a new gig as well and only got like freelance ones which he's doing and I'm supporting them with my new job.

My total TC progression etc and I still had savings for around 4 months of rent from my first job, I'm a SDE 1 and I don't think I'll be able to go through this again not me, not my family.
