What is Wings

I am new to TCS as lateral. What is this wings program. I am getting this mail. What is purpose of Wings program. Will it increase the salary Or related to promotion.

Wings is TCS's upskilling program. It aims at career growth and potential salary hikes, but these aren't guaranteed. It's more about enhancing skills than immediate promotions or salary increases.
Is it mandatory.
It’s just waste of time and energy. Try to switch after getting knowledge of current technology. You will get better package and roles.
Moreover the revised package after wings promotion has lots of terms and conditions. One of those are, if you get C band anytime then your ctc will be reversed to it’s pre wings promotion. And may other conditions…
