What is the use of RTO when none of the team member work in same location ? Can someone make this understand to the policy makers. They have no clue of the ground reality!!

TCS has very clear strategy, In a team of 6, the senior junior combination is 3 L1, 2 L2, 1 L3.
For every 2 years, associate will be leveled up.
To Train the Freshers, only way is to bring all the Seniors and Juniors to office. This is huge costs saving for the company.! So to make this happen RRO is mandatory. Maybe for time being they allow us to woek from remote. But will go soon.

But every team wont have same composition. In my team we all are seniors or mid seniors.. then why make it mandatory for us ?

Now it’s mandatory, they are pushing juniors into the Teams.

Not all teams, projects and client are same. However some uniformity needs to be maintained to keep parity.

For example there are 2 projects, and in one project client expects 100% rto because of PII data/devices/or maybe some illogical decision also, but there is no such requirement in another project. Do you think anyone will willingly join first project? How will you handle this if you are the policy maker?

P. S. There can multiple counterquestions like what about during covid time etc, but remember that was an exceptional scenario.

In such cases, to attract people to join first project, there should be special allowance given employee wfo. This can work in favour of company and project, rather than discredit contribution made by wfh resources by not paying them VA and linking career advancement to wfo compliance.

Talking about first project- How did TCS convinced such clients at time of COVID? How come there were no issues of PII/devices/security and why are they not able to do the same now?
This is just illogical and pathetic excuses from management as they don’t have any logic now. They just want to turn employee centric company to slave factory. They want to show that company can force employees to do anything they want, so that for future decisions, they will face less resistance from employees and slowly no voice against them. So, with every policy they want to set an example. If we are following them without any resistance, CONGRATULATIONS- we are on path if becoming SLAVES

Why we have to resort to negative ways to mandate a policy ? Are we school children working in TCS ? As a HR , i expect people on top to be little more innovative and accommodating in their policies and approach. One hand we talk of inclusivity, So drafting policies which are employee friendly isnt part of providing inclusive environment for everyone ?

Absolutely No Use of RTO! And if RTO is useful as per CHRO then we all want to know the RTO monthly % of our brainy CHRO Lakkad sahab

They have closed their brains to understand this simple logic, am in the same boat. Nobody sits in project in same city, still for RTO non sense, am supposed to daily go to office.
