What is the ideal time for me to switch?

I joined as fresher almost 2y ago. I am pretty much skilled and certified in my technology. Is it the right time for me to switch? My lead tells me to work for atleast 1 more year and complete atleast 3 years in my first company. What should I do?

Telling your manager/lead that you're planning to leave is a bad idea imo

Upskill and switch . Most companies ask for 2+ year experience

Also please don't tell anyone in your company that you have plans to leave

Lol i have the same question. In my case i have 2.5 yrs of exp.
I won't say i am "completely" skilled because there are legislations and other legal things to know and it will take me 100 yrs to study everything 💀 I generally want to explore other firms too and my team lead asked me to switch after i become senior atleast.
What i am doing is casually looking around at other jobs too and applying for it. If i get something great along the line, i will put my papers down else i will continue till then.

I suggest you do the same and don't give anyone in your team ideas that u might be leaving- it will create a ruckus. Just look around while you hold this job so that atleast you have something to fall back on.

This is just my perception since i am in the same boat as yours. People from senior roles might be able to give more insights and guide better. Hoping they comment here so both of us can learn a thing or two about switching :p
