What is the greatest opportunity/job/luxury/personal thing you have sacrificed?

We all talk a lot about the work we do and the jobs we got and stuff. But what is it that you sacrificed to get get there?

I’ll go personally:

I wanted to build a career in tech, so I:

  1. Lived away from my family and friends in an unknown city for 3 years (hardest thing for me as family/friends mattered a lot to me)
  2. Did not take up a job in Finance which was my true passion and still is

Turned down dream opportunity 3 times including job at Google Zurich because wife was ill.

Kinda lost ambition after that and am currently stuck in average job with below average pay. It literally hurts and feels depressed

But obv couldn’t leave ailing wife for a job so…here I am…swallowed hard pill of fate!

Don't feel bad for this. Companies come and go, your relationship is something you should cherish

Left a high paying job and title to look after my parents health condition, best decision with no regrets! Eventually fotund things I loved, took some bets and learned a lot of new things.

Started focusing on things that I had left for a toss, like my social relationships, my health, my creative pursuits! Got back to those actively and feeling much better mentally at this stage
