What is the actual business benefit of enforcing WFO with strict hours.
At my location, I'm the only one working for my team (pan India team), so it's a bit relaxed for me. However, I see most of my friends who have to mandatorily sit in the office for 6-9 hours.
My question being What's the actual benefit of enforcing such policies? Is there any scope of improvement in deliverables? Looking for genuine answers.

Its just torturing associates ,make them incompliant in policies and Company doesn't have to pay severance pay. Some people will resign voluntarily as won't be able to cope up with daily increasing tortures

All of this so they don't have to declare layoffs?

True

I did not get hike this year because of wfo. My band was supposed to be A but they denied it because of wfo

That's straight BS. You would've done all the work honestly and earned them the money they charge the client for. I wish for you better things :)

Handling such a big organisation with a single policy is just lethargy and ignorance of the management. There might be teams where it’s useful. There might be teams where it’s irrelevant. But drafting policy and sub-clauses, making sure if WFH is provided as a perk then a manager can’t misuse their power to deny it. It’s a lot of work and even without doing that, TCS is profitable. So they treat employees like school kids of their era. Do what you are asked to…go where they say…do your work and how they want you to… dress code, office hours blah blah…just wait when someone comes with the idea of morning PT in the Fitness Campaign🤣🤣

lmao so true. They'd design a fool proof system for stealing money in F&F but not for welfare.

Nothing sir
