What is it really meant?

Hi all, i recently done with all the rounds with one of the company ! Who were hiting for Bosch i have done woth client round as well after the final rpund HR calls me up and ask we dint get any feedback yet but just wanted to check how soon you can join us and what is your budget and everything, so I told them a budget, but they said that they are offering bit like around two lakhs less than that. So she told I will check and get back to you, but it’s been a week. She did not get back to me when I checked over the mail over the message. She acted like she don’t even know me so I pinged her in the mail looping the Bosch client. Now she says that the client kept your profile on hold. Meanwhile, they are also interviewing the other candidates. So what does that mean? Do I have any chance? It is so confusing? Why did she even called me up and asked me all this things if the feedback was not positive and I am sure that I have done good in the final interview because even when I asked about the feedback. My interviewer said that I have done better than others, and he also said that you are doing good and he did not suggest me anything to improve, so I was very positive now what you guys think will will they consider me or call me back again? Should I wait even in mail? I have mentioned that if there is a problem with the compensations, I am open for the conversation so what do you guys think have you ever come across something like this, or is it only me, please drop your comments.
