What is "forced to resign"?
Been hearing this a lot these days where companies are firing a bunch of people and forcing some others to resign, to bring down the severance cost.
What are these situations created by these companies which actually force people to resign?

- Direct threat of firing you if you don't resign and that would look bad on your profile
- Making a performance case and giving Performance Improvement plan with impossible tasks or very high workload. They will find fault like you did not do this and that
- Not giving any rewards or appraisal or anything and micromanaging to make your life hell so you switch yourself

How one can tackle such scenarios ?

Severance is not paid in force to resign . Had to face this in last company . It also means two things -
- Either manager asks you to resign
- Or you are given impossible tasks

Yes I know that severance is never paid in case of resignation. That's why companies are forcing people to do so.
