What is considered a nominal asking for an appraisal?

1.5 years with my current company, and I didn't get a proper appraisal last cycle as I'd just joined.

Between 5%-10% in today's market is good. Between 2%-5% is most common.

Wow, that seems awfully low 😂 On a side note - what's your opinion on asking your manager for their thoughts on how much you think you could negotiate for. Is this considered against policy?

Hi , I have 5 yoe & getting 6 lpa , & I am critical resource in my project , can I ask for 20 % hike ?

Depends on your current ctc and experience too. If you are earning around 5-6 LPA, you can consider asking for 20-30% increment too. If already at higher salary like 14-15 LPA, then even 10% will be great

5-10 percent is okay. But if you're already underpaid, wait till you complete 2 years and then leave the company.
