What is better to switch to a Java role or choose a career in ML ?

From a future perspective which is better switching to an ML role or continue preparing in the same Java role where I have around 9+ years of experience.

I want to understand where the future is heading. Is the Java developer role still considered to be a secure option or should I change my carrier path ?
