What does work mean to you?
Over time we tend to attach a lot of our self worth to the "job" we do. How do you see it? How do you detach from it?
See job as way to earn Money only
Thats it
No friends on workplace , only acquaintances and colleagues
No sweet talk, only diplomatic discussions.
Do the job and get out, go home to your mother, husband, dog , they are waiting for you. They are the ones whom you are earning for.
You do job so you can trek and create lifetime of memories.
Feed those hungry cows and dogs, leave world a better place.
Thats where you find your worth, in smile of your family, pets and friends you make on trips.
and to your wife and kids
and your girlfriend:D
i see this pattern of "questioning the work" is mainly with people in their early 20's and late 30's.
I guess too much tv.
Instagram is kind of anti work, if you see a few reels atleast one of them is anti work, if you like it, slowly your entire feed is anti work
You say it like it's a bad thing. I think it's a positive change. Questioning what is important in your life is key to prioritising the things that make you happy.
Putting family ahead of work is not indicative of a lack of work ethic.
I'm grinding for my future n my family. I need to do it, no excuse whether I'll be happy or not. One thing is they need me n I can't ignore that's work for me!!
-To be free from all this I take a one week bike ride in a year.
At least try to be true to yourself and your work.
Something which keeps my FIL from dismissing me entirely
Just something I do for 8 hours i.e. 1/3rd of the day so that I can sustain the rest 16 hours. Have a better life, give a better life to my parents someday. Also to pay bills so that I can learn more, it is the learning that matters to me now. Work does not help me learn much, it's slow paced and has too many blocker and diplomatic decisions not enjoyable anymore.
Well work to me is an "Enabler" for the things I want to do outside of work. Whether to take my parents for a trip abroad, finance my brother's marriage, build a financial blanket to feel "safe" and also to explore life outside of the laptop screen
Work- something to do. For me it's not just money, I love analysis and I get money for doing the same. Life is beautiful when you have someone to love and something to do i.e, the job. Sometimes my work life maybe uncomfortable due to organizational issues but the work I do is always meaningful.
Liking your work is a rarity. Congrats

100% True, Especially in a function like Product Management, the inferiority complex is an everyday affair.
