What does it take to be extremely attention to detail-ed?

I just started my first job and while working with the most senior people in my team + founders, I've realised these people have a strong attention to detail. They pin point things that won't cross my mind or spot what's exactly off in a way I can't quite yet.

If you belong to this class of folks, how long did it take for you to be this observant. Was it practice? Or is it about one's personality?

Some of it is inherent but can be learnt with practice.

The trait develops gradually with your work, doesn't mean that it will take you years to attain it. As you are a beginner, you would have a small list of tasks, so whatever you are working on be curious about it and question, build up your knowledge base. Soon enough, even with unfamiliar tool/code/situation, you would be able to easily figure out what is missing, what should be considered when planning for projects, etc.

Naaah that's just part and parcel of work. When you reach that level of experience and expertise, you will predict things even before they happen.

I too had same question when I started working. I don’t belong to that class yet🤣. Maybe it shows how much experience they have and that they actually worked on it. Hopefully someone from that class will answer. 🤞
