There was a time when people cared about origins of goods. Not anymore though, especially when cheaper goods are readily available.

Too many cheap copies in the market. Amazon has literally destroyed the market place by giving platform for cheap copies.

Yes, they actually were! I remember visiting Delhi and nearby areas, and I noticed that many dharamshalas and small hostels had Solapuri Chaddars in their living spaces. That's how popular they used to be!
