What do you think about the ongoing bench problem in TCS?

Makes me very concerned. 🫣 The bench is very bloated right now.

The problem is that TCS is matching today's hiring to tomorrow's demand, to get your talent pyramid right. Typically, your scarcest resource in any sort of high-demand period is competent, experienced project managers, of approximately 3 years tenure. So recruiting targets should be about predicting demand 3 years out.

They also distribute the vast majority of their profits to current Heads in the year they are made, or right after, retaining little within the firm. Heads actually have attrition levels similar from juniors(around 3 years), due to lifestyle, outside offers, and political infighting combined with personal ambition.

So they are incentivized to make headcount and recruiting decisions based on current demand because they don't care about staying for longer at the firm. This is a mismatch.

What do you think? I am literally sleepless at night with anxiety about getting laid off and it is affecting my health now.

Bro yesterday you posted about your secret relation right? And today you are concerned? For the time I'll say you enjoy your relation time and on side think about career. Btw instead of being anxious try to upskill or start preparing so that if something like layoffs comes you will already be prepared and can switch easily. Rest is upto you.

Bro or Sis! I didn't understand, why you are worring and for whom you are worring.

What's the problem, if tcs is hiring to match their Tomorrow's demand, every company will do this. Nothing new here.

Also what's the problem, if attrition happened due to 1 to 3 years experienced juniors, same is happening since many years. If they will not change then tcs will give 0.5X only, as most of them start with 3.15L only. Once they leave then only they will get 2x, 3x and 4x ctc.

Iii rd is also I didn't understand. During apprisal tcs gives different bands, and they gives around 1% to C band holders and 4-5% to B band honders, while they deduct 15 to 20% from D band holders, So in that way, net amount they never distributes to their emoyees, as profits earns from D & Eband holders distributes between A, B,C band holders

Also big part of profit, they share with it's share holders, where they own groups get back big part of dividend back, as Tata sons holds a major chunk of tcs shares.

So I didn't understand, why and for whom you are worring??
