easy for these panels to say. People study what will get them employment. Why would any body study civil/mech/ when there is no job opportunities? Both manufacturing/construction needs more of labor and diploma holders not engineers. There is nothing called R&D there.

In a status obsessed country like ours, Computer science, is the ticket for good life. You get to work in a big MNC, onsite chances, foreign trips and best of most companies do not treat you like blue collar labor.

Started my career in manufacturing, Supply chain team. We had IIT engineers working in the team. Our job was to chase material for production. We literally spent the day talking to truck drivers and dispatch people. A job that doesn't require any education.

Babus live in different world. They think everybody's life is as easy as theirs.

I disagree with you. I recently came across an article that mentioned something quite surprising — in the U.S., a degree in Computer Science, which was once considered a gateway to high-paying jobs, now has one of the highest unemployment rates among graduates in 2025.

The same trend seems to be emerging in India as well. Many tech graduates are struggling to even get interview calls due to the market saturation.

It might be time for the youth in our country to start exploring and building careers in other fields too, instead of just chasing what's considered "elite" or "trending." Diversifying our career choices could lead to more stability and opportunities in the long run.
