What are my options ?

In a nutshell, im a 2025 grad

Didnt do much dsa , Joined a service based company , got alloted to a ipaas legacyish tool , salary is depressing and work is even more depressing. Trust me even Tl and coworkers make me pity for them (no bluff)

Truth be told: Im that kind of fresher who built a skyscraper with a questionable support as base

Im confused on what to even do Should I fix my all bases( I will do it ) Should I go with ml Should I go with devops

Should I stop it all and study specific to SDE1 roles

But im terrified that now or later I will not be considered a fresher.

And my current exp will impact my next job hunt

Please dont ignore guys , im terrified as hell and im going into silent depression and I cant console myself or im not even listening to myself

Please give any advice for a corporate corpse / coolie

My Tech stack: Python , c , bit of cpp , ML ,Dl, Cuda(basic), pytorch (intermidate), tensorflow ,Jax , Docker , K3s , Bash, Grafana , Jenkins, Git, Proxmox, Prometheus,Networking (basics)

It’s too early for you to think like that bud. Going on with what you’ve started is a thing which everyone would think when they start their career.

In my experience you’ll find a lot of opportunities and you never know where and what you’ll land upon.

Think ahead is good. Thinking for a lifetime all at once might create unnecessary chaos in your mind.

Focus on developing skills in whatever you do. There’s a shortage of skills in the industry. The environment around us says that the market is competitive but it’s actually not. Not everyone is putting their 100%.

True . But I don't agree focusing what u r doing , u will stay stuck , Put efforts on domain which u like and do dsa network , study interview experience, just switch and restart ur career

This ☝️ Everyone says competition is infinite, so many people in the job market etc… Though fact is there is too less a number of people actually on contention for anything at all.

Focus on getting expert , do fall ai taking ur job bullshit
Ai is tool which going aid u , humans will be always in driver seat

Don't confuse between domains ,choose one early and start preparing . It same for anyone regardless u joined faang or witch u need build ur profile no one going spoon feed u

I have a regret in life. That is I didn't take risky and bold moves in my early twenties when I had nothing to lose.

Don’t worry too much now, 5 years back I was alloted to a support telecom project. Felt stuck for 2 years, started taking certifications and figured out my area of interest. Tried too hard to switch but gradually got an opportunity in the same company again felt stuck again studied, created projects and switched. Give some time but keep learning, all the best!

Thats nice , ill start working its just i was once sky-high and now im in shattering low like my castle crumbled . Ill try to shift inside company but its just peanuts in salary.so inorder for high packages dsa is my only savior?

For the first 8 years of my career, I was stuck doing routine work — Excel sheets, support tasks, and projects that didn’t add much value. But I never gave up. I kept learning and waiting for the right opportunity. Once I got into a good project, everything changed — my career took off. Today, with 11 years of experience as a Java Microservices Developer, I’m a top performer, and promotions are coming my way. So don’t lose hope — one good project can completely change your career!

Thats soo inspiring , in this company I won't get any good projects as there is little to no coding and its a middleware integration ipaas tool . I will stop worrying and start working but how do I standout from everything. Now a days I feel like that whatever I do , can also be done by others if they learn it and what makes it special ... and the code I write is not really mine but just a slight modified from the original code , cuz everytime I try to build something. I have to refer to bits and pieces of code of others on the internet .

Think what you really want and go for it

Im just scared that if I pursue ml , as a fresher without much exp no one will care to look at me , and I wanna earn good and work on stuff that atleast have some worth / something challenging

Do DSA, some LLD, HLD and continue learning python, and of course make your fundamentals strong. SDE vs ML is purely your choice based on your interest. Either field will be rewarding. Choose whatever you enjoy more though

Same as your condition l, when I was joining a fresher, I was confused to go Cloud, Data Analyst, Backend Developer, Salesforce Developer, Govt Job even so much confusion and I was allocated to a support project. First and only thing you need to be good at is one oops programming language like JAVA, C# or Python be good at OOPS concept basic dsa like Array, StringArrayList, Linked list, Stack and Queue Maps and solve one problem in platform like Coding Ninjas, Leetcode, Hackerrank gold star and complete certification course on Programming Language, then choose specific skills you know based on you know your limit suppose I good at backend compare to front end, for backend Spring boot or .net based on your choosed programming Language is fine I want to go fronted learn html, css, reactjs suppose if you are good at JavaScript then node js mongo db you are full stack developer but need lot of efforts. if you don't want to go this backend and frontend and go to data side means be super good at SQL and data engineering concept hadoop, spark there are some online courses learn from it, there are so many technologies like SAP, Salesforce they are paying good. explore it different technologies and talk with linkedin who are already worked in, but once you decided focus one thing if you want to learn multiple thing then it is not possible, So try it on talk with people because I wasted the same like I was support, if you want to change the project better to change the company like as you are fresher most company will have coding rounds, if is very hard to change project once it is assigned they say next year and year will go on. don't worry talk to your friends and go to office don't do WFH then you will find it my friend. ALL The Best
