You will get 1 year WFO exception, it's there in the policy. Only you need to submit child birth certificate, but for one request they approve 1 month, hence you need to request every month till the child turns a year

Maximum is 6 months that can be availed till the kid turns 1. That too HR will ask unnecessary questions like are you the primary parent, any health issues to spouse etc. even after submitting birth certificate and project approval, HR try all possible options ways to stop employees from availing this benefit. When you talk about policy, they say there is a line mentioned that it is at the discretion of the company

I mean, how many days are allowed to take from our earned leave balance? My manager told me that they will allow a maximum of 5 days.

Policies might depend on unit. Can’t disclose my unit here. My daughter is 9 months old. I’ve asked for remaining 3 months wfh to assist my wife in chores and all, she is feeling lethargic nowadays. HR agreed without a fuss. Policy says possibility of upto 6 months wfh ‘for childcare and bonding’ for fathers till baby turns 1yr of age. I just had to provide birth certificate.

That's under the condition that father is primary parent.

Unless your baby needs special attention or you have twins they don't approve.

Child's birth certificate.. You are allowed for 1 year wfh exception in child care category. Request to be raised monthly

You need to submit birth certificate. But they are allowing paternal exception for a total of 6 months only. Also you need to raise it for like a month at a time and extend accordingly.
