WFH Exception due to dependent care
36M working as BA in TCS for past 10 years and my wife recently got state government job with posting to my native place and her training begun from 10 to 5 PM . Bangalore is the nearest TCS location for me and it is 350 KM away from my native. I have a daughter with 2.5 years old who has not yet started going to play school. At this moment I’m facing challenge to manage the things as my daughter is young. Please let me know your thoughts about wfh exception in this situation. As far as I know exception will be given only for medical reasons

Congratulations both husband and wife are having government jobs😂... On a serious note search for hybrid jobs which suits you👍

Is your base location Bangalore? Do you have project odc there ? If not then you can raise exception for No seat available reason. Talk to your supervisor about exception. If he is okay to approve the request will go to directly to supervisor no HR approval needed.

Yes, base location is Bangalore and we have project ODC, currently going to office for all 5 days. Bangalore is the closet location for me

Take work from home. My manager somehow never has to go to office because she has raised some exception for parents illness.
So it's possible for sure.

If you have leaves, apply leaves and continue WFH

This is the reason i am quitting TCS. Every company giving at-least a week default WFH even during pre covid time..

Many of us are in the same boat....

Same situation as mine please reply someone one this I need the same
