WFH and Losing Sanity
Hi, I am WFH since last 5 years. I see WFH has many benefits, but now I see that I am mostly living inside head with negative mindset.
I did had so many goals back then and an impactful life with hustle. But now everything has taken a set aback even my social skils and appearance.
I am doing exercise regularly but I dont have anyone to talk to regarding tech, goals and what should I do pursue next. I am missing social connections, laughter overall.
I dont have any siblings/friends in hometown.
If anyone in the same sitatuon, how are u managing. Thanks

Workation. Travel and work/live on the go. Don't come back for a month. If this works, you won't come back for months.
I know a few folks who lived in 4 locations over a year. Slow travel. Chill life and activities after work .

This doesn't apply if you have family

Not possible when you have wife and kids

The problem is not WFH, it is your routine. Start travelling, go out of your comfort zone, start interacting with random strangers.
Believe me, WFO will make you a hell lot more miserable.

I too man working from home for last 5.5 years now, I never felt so.
I meet people in my hometown after working hours, I have strong local connections which I cherish more and more. I play cricket, badminton in academy near me and talk tech with my teammates, mentors.

Hmm this is what it should look like.. thanks for the virw

can you refer me in your startup? looking for remote opportunities

Hi we are not hiring fully remote now

Wfh here from past so many years. Almost a decade. Apart from work I cook, take care of my plants, spend time with kids, take them to park, teach them, do many activities with then. Doing good in office work but other than that my life revolves around my small hobbies and kids. I have found my peace. Canβt imagine going back to office.
humans have been hunter gatherers, travellers and settlers for centuries. We have always been on the run no matter how introvert or extrovert we are. So itβs natural to feel trapped sitting on the same chair for entire day everyday for years.

Damn thats deep!!

If staycation is not an option, please move to some other city and work from there tbh. I went through this and it was so bad but I landed a wfo role in blr and moved then. Best thing that happened to me tbh
