Were you ever asked the salary you started your career with during the initial call with HR ?

So i got a call from "vyapaar-apps" HR, she asked me the salary I started my career with and the salary at which I left my last company.

I understand them asking for the current salary but this is quite weird and it's the first time any HR has asked me this question

According to her, they just need to know my growth.

Were you ever asked such a question? And please share any other weird questions you were asked during the initial HR call.

Have a look at the person’s profile on linkedin then. Will give an idea where they come from and what kind of companies to avoid

Lowballing bait. Sometimes, some boards or investors will put up these arbitrary salary history requirements in an effort to control "wage inflation" but it's all a guise to lowball your cash comp and ESOPs.

Really unusual, there's no benefit to asking that question either imo

Just tell them “don’t remember”

Well that's really weird. Not sure how that information will even help the HR.
