Just make a formal request to HR that you would be interested to buyback at nominal price.
If it is a large company and policy doesn’t exist, you have no chance to buy it. But at start-up depending on their situation they can male exceptions. They typically sell out in the 10-25% of the invoice value.
No alternate route but putting a formal request to HE and IT folks and have your manager backing.
