We need to take it easy

“What’s your CTC?” “Can you give me a referral?” “How many Y’sOE?”

While it’s beautiful to see people work hard and pull in great money; it’s disheartening to witness that’s all that we are living for.

Maybe, live a little? Money’s great. No doubt.

But there’s so much more beyond it. There’s watermelons in summertime, there’s also your first kiss, there are friends from old days and so many experiences you’re yet to have.

Live a little. Somewhere between chasing CTC’s and paying taxes we’ve all become redundant to living in the moment.

Get yourself that ice cream. Go beyond the Sea link for once.

Don’t buy that iPhone if you can’t afford it, travel in the train. Build relationships, foster long term networking; goes a long way.

Live a little. It’s not that expensive.

For someone who is unemployed & almost broke, this hurts

I want to meet people, find love & not stay at my room constantly worrying about my future, consoling my parents. I really wish i had someone who would tell me that its going to be ok, i am with you but i never had that.

Man, that hurts.

It is going to be okay, man! Things will get way way better. You will build a happy and prosperous life. Just hold on a little longer. It is going to be alright.

its that fear of falling behind

DancingPancake

Everyone is behind of someone in one way or other. There is no point of running in this rat race. It is better to just compete with yourself and just becoming 1% better every month. Then you will have satisfaction that you were able to enjoy this small ride on this huge and beautiful planet.

From March i was also in this race. Looking for new opportunities and trying to increase my CTC, but now I have dialed it down. On weekends I am going out instead of chasing referrals and looking for a new job. Connecting with old friends and reading more. If you are not pressured to earn more (bad financial situation etc), I will suggest you to enjoy life more.

My G. You know what’s up.

Good and bad times are both imminent in life. It’s about how smoothly you tackle. Your time will come, and maybe you’ll reminisce back to this post and times? Cheers.

I will surely have better stories to tell my children.

Never got any gf so no kisses no melons, friends were greedy and only around me for money. All kinds of experiences either cost money or I have already done. The only thing left is to make money, buy a home, get married and help the family buy their experiences.

GroovyMuffin

You do what makes you happy bhai. The fact that people around you were only for money (so sorry to hear that) means you should invest more into meaningful relationships.

Paisa will come and go. Yaadein?

TwirlyWalrus

I try, but whenever I buy something costly, their eyes shine and they want to take them. And I was careless enough to give them my stuff. They broke my watches, never returned clothes and scammed me in deals. I once traded my working speakers for an old keyboard having sun micro systems logo on it. The keyboard wasnt even working but it had a value for me as I am fond of computers. It was of no use for that guy. But after trading it, the guy took it back saying he needs it for a while and never returned it. This is what friends and meaningful relationships are. Fuck them all.

Theek hai bhai. I understand you’re frustrated. Don’t take it out on a random person on the internet. Take a shower.

Fair, but the post is incredibly tonedeaf, in a space where there are dedicated sections for referrals and CTC discussions

Underlying point is valid but targeted at byproducts of the problem instead of the problem itself

Beyond the limelight, some of us have responsibility of family. Some of us is really trying to pull through the tough times of unemployment. That referral might be a luxury to Some, but for some of us, it is a necessity.

Living a life without caring for source of income is a luxury for many, which some of us can't afford.

Who does not want to enjoy that new flavour of dessert delight? Who does not want to cook their favourite food with a new recipe? Who does not want to feel the breeze of autumn and spring? But these are luxury for some of us!

Massive respect for people who have responsibilities!
I do understand how burdening it can be.

The point is to take care of yourself every now and then :)
