Ok so, robots take over our jobs and the companies have to pay tax to government? For what? What does the laid off employees get?
They get to watch our corrupt politicians enrich themselves with ill usage of more taxes.
But to genuinely answer your question in an ideal world this tax would be used to cushion your job loss with some kind of severance and subsidy. It also discourages companies from laying off as it decreases the gains they would get from switching to AI.
