Trending @Infosys; Was my Infy journey toxic?

Last year, I received an offer from an MNC with a salary of 15 LPA, which prompted me to resign from my previous organization. During my notice period at my previous organization, I received a call from Infosys, where they assured me a package of 18 LPA. Considering the better offer, I decided to reject the offer from the other organization ( I did not wanted to keep them waiting till last moment and then rejecting the offer as they were looking for an immediate joiner) even before receiving the official offer letter from Infosys—a decision that turned out to be my biggest mistake.

A few days later, Infosys sent me an offer letter, but it was for 12 LPA, and the position was one level lower than what they had initially promised. Despite my best efforts to negotiate for a higher salary, they were unwilling to adjust the offer, and I ultimately had no choice but to join Infosys.

After joining, the hiring managers who reduced my package forced me to change my base location, which I was uncomfortable with, but I complied due to the project requirements. However, the project ended within six months, and I was then asked to attend client interviews. Within a week, I was rejected in two client interviews, which led to my hiring manager continuously berating me, making me feel worthless. It was during this time that I decided to quit Infosys.

I began interviewing outside and secured an offer from another MNC within a week, as well as successfully passing an interview with a third client on the same day. The new MNC offered me a salary with more than a 100% hike and a better designation than I had anticipated.

As they say, "Every setback is a setup for a comeback." This experience taught me the value of patience and perseverance. It reminded me that sometimes, "you have to go through the worst to get to the best."

When I resigned from Infosys, my hiring manager urged me not to leave, claiming that Infy is the best place to work and promising an onsite opportunity. However, it was too late. I am leaving Infosys.

Good to know you learned your lesson .... Honestly I am not mocking you, even I have learned some lessons the hard way. So next time if you are going for a switch, do not get yourself retained.

My current manager in infy is good. He hardly asks me to come to ofc, he even gave me a good performance bonus hike this time. Not sure what I will get NXT , but no hike since 2 years , I am a JL 5 and payment is even less than JL4, even asked to revise and they raise only 2k in-hand 😂 and expects me to work on weekends and 12-14 hrs. So I am not going for a discussion if I get a chance to put down the paper.

Yeah, I learned my lesson in a hard way.

Good to hear that your manager is good and I hope you get a good hike in your next switch. All the best!

You are JL5 and payment is less than JL4. I can 100% relate. I am JL4 and payment is the same as what it was when I joined as JL3 (which was in turn equal to a JL2)

A bird in hand is worth two in the bushes. You should have taken the 15L in the first place before joining Infosys . Anyways, All’s well that ends well

Your story is so inspiring and satisfying at the same time. I joined in as fresher from Non IT background but after giving my time, i got to know u don't really progress or learn much in here. Planning for a switch.

Hi,
I’m working as an associate consultant ( SAP ABAP ), and trying to switch to another company but not getting any calls. Is it because of 3 month notice period or am lacking in my skills. And also how much hike I can expect.

I too had to join Infosys when I didn't had any other option in hand. And it was a mistake. While some of my collegues have already left due to atrocious management and project planning, I'm yet to make a decision on my resignation. Even though my project has ended, I feel its better to leave instead of working under such management.
