Wants to pursue MS abroad to get better AI/ML opportunities

Hey everyone,

I'm a third-year engineering student from Pune, deeply passionate about AI and Machine Learning. I'm particularly interested in working with early-stage startups where I can learn fast and contribute meaningfully.

Given the limited AI/ML opportunities in India, I’ve been considering pursuing a Master’s in the US to break into the AI field globally. However, with the current shifts in the job market due to the AI boom, increasing competition, and concerns around U.S. immigration policies (especially for international students), it’s become a difficult decision.

Coming from a modest background, I’ve also been advised to gain a couple of years of work experience here in India before applying for MS programs, both to strengthen my profile and to manage finances better.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially from those who’ve been through a similar journey or are currently working in AI. Your guidance would mean a lot to me!

Thanks for your time!
