Wanting to start an Edtech (company?) for American/Western European

What are your views on a small edtech product that can help/tutor students for SAT and ACT's. I know a ton of these already exist but don't think why I can't launch a similar service and generate a decent revenue.

I am not looking at a massive valuation but I think this can grow into a neat little business that generates enough to sustain me. (Say about 20-30k USD). Lemme know your thoughts if you don't think this will workout

PS:- Currently in a tier-1 engineering college CSE

You need to identify your differentiating factor. Otherwise it would just be another product out there. Try to talk to parents/students and get an understanding of what is that untapped area.

Saying this out of experience, having worked at EdTech for 5 years now.

Cool, thanks feedback tacken But also why can't I launch what's available with a good enough teacher and still get around 100ish people to sign up. Even if they pay me 50$, that's still a good business no?

The reason is “why”. What is stopping the teacher from starting something on their own if they are the key factor that’s pulling the crowd. Unless you have a feature that makes your offering unique, it will not be possible to sustain the business for long.

I have been on this journey for a long time now. Lots of failure comes with loads of learning. Each step or initiative I took has helped me grow as a person, the business guy (ed-tech, media space), and also in terms of technicalities (f...

AMA about Edtechs

As the title says. Have worked close to 10 years now in this industry. Can answer on how sales, marketing and operations work here. Never had visibility on funding etc but have seen the ill effects of toxic VC money
