Trending @Accenture; Want to take back my resignation!

Hey guys,

So I resigned recently. I'm part of a team that I don't culturally fit into and was hoping to move to a different part of Accenture that they said would be possible initially but did not come through with any update even after 1.5 months . When I actually resigned it was approved immediately and my people lead did not even bother to have a conversation. I do want to stick around with Accenture as a company but not my current team. Is it possible to change, in which case I would like to withdraw my resignation? Who should I talk to about this (ideally some decision maker)?

Don't even think of retention. I had a very bad experience with Accenture. Recently I also resigned and my Sr. Manager retained me by saying they will Promote me and do H1B nominations and all. I changed my decision and taken my paper back. Post discussion with HR my Manager came to be me saying that we can't give promotion because HR saying recently he has taken paper back. After that I have taken timely follow up with my manager for H1B nomination but he didn't responded me. He pinged me immediately after nomination windows closed and he told me that he forgot to nominate. Accenture literally takes revenge if you stay back; so my suggestion is don't even think about taking paper back. If you have a good offer then leave.

Really sorry to hear this. I don't have an offer yet but looking. You're right though, they don't really care about employees

Better switch and get hike because as you will start on new project, you will not get any hike in December too. Career is more important than just a company.

Talk to the HR about the reason you're resigning (they usually ask), express your wish to be realigned with another team/project. They'll do the rest of the work of getting you the change/rolloffs.
The same thing happened with me, I needed a rolloff from the current team and no one heard me till I resigned, spoke to the HR halfway through my NP, she escalated it to AD and I got my immediate release.
Note: I already had other plans and didn't plan on staying back more than 6 months is the reason why I took my resignation back, I do not have insights on growth opportunities after you do so.

P.S. my resignation request was also approved, you need to mail your HR asking for reversal of resignation, they do it from their end.

Thank you for sharing this. I did speak to the HR and she said I need to check with the MD to see if there are any open roles in other teams. It was almost like it was not her job to do anything about it. So yeah

Withdraw resignation is the biggest mistake , you will not get hike or any promotion in next 2 to 3 years .

I don't think that's accurate. There are people on my team who withdrew resignation and were promoted 4 months later. So depends I guess

Yes that's true it will not affect anything

You yourself should be able to withdraw your resignation no one should be a decision maker. Check in the workday tool if you have any option

I would like to know if it's a possibility to move to a different team in Accenture before I withdraw, hence the decision maker.

Don't take back the resignation if you have an open offer. Else talk to your lead/manager and get it cancelled. They have the authority to do it but willingness might be a problem. Also, look for teams with your interest by networking around. If they have an opening, you can apply and get there. But I'm very curious to know the not fitting part. Do let me know if it's not too much of a personal issue.

Your supervisor has a deadline of 3 working days to approve your exit after that it gets automatically approved, you are free to revert your exit any time

Withdraw the resignation. Once withdrawal is successful mail your HR lead that you are not willing to work in current project and ask them to release you from the project. It should work. The HR will try to retain you in the project but don’t accept at any cost.
