Trending @Wipro; Want to get release from current project. Should I ask my manager to release me?

Hi all. I'm currently working in support project. I have been in this project from june. I agreed to work in this project because I thought I would get some extra pay. And many of my frds were getting mail for codility to avoid that i joined this project. But after a month I realize that there is allowance only for night shift(2k) And I am not getting much time to study. Because the tools and Technologies on which project is based on are dead Technologies. Most recent video you will search for it on YT or udemy is from 2020.

Many of my teammates suggesting me that if you wants to switch within next 1 yr then you must ask release from this project. As this support project won't be of any use while switch.

But I'm scared. Because my manager has already said that if you ask me to release then I'll simply put you in PIP. So I'm so scared.

Don't know what should I do... I wants to study. But after working for 9-10 hrs. I can't look back to laptop for any reason.

Plz suggest me what should I do.

Try to explain to your manager, if he doesn't agree then you follow your work hours strictly and try to upskill whenever you can and get out of wipro asap or else they will lock you in the project for 18months. No one cares.
