Want to get into Machine Learning

Context: Working as an EM now, and have been doing people management for roughly 4 years. Worked as an IC for 10 years in mobile development before EM.

I now don't feel motivated with the EM role anymore and want to get back into coding, however i don't want to get into mobile apps, and want to explore something else.

I had an inclination for ML and I want to understand how can i break into this role? Any pointers from anyone who has a successful transition? which resources worked best? how did you make the switch? If not from mobile domain, did you make a switch from any other domain onto ML/AI?
