You can try ijp to change units once selected they will give some specified time after that you will be out of your old project and assigned to the new unit for which you have applied

Apply for IJP. Also I suggest you not to ask for release from Project as they are putting people on PIP

For change Current project check with unit manager, for change unit connect with the other unit HR that you want to join and ask to connect manager and looks for an requirement match with your skill
