Wanna switch to PM role as a fresher.

Hi folks, i have been working as an sde from 8 months. Honestly i dont enjoy coding and dsa much. I just like logic.

I dont find myself doing hardcore coding. From my clg days i was inclined towards PM roles. But then i used to fear that there is 1 pm on 11 devs. So, ofc job in dev market is huge.

So i chose software development. But now i feel i dont enjoy much. I might be due to current work too. As its very outdated tech stack and worst team. So, thats why i am not enjoying work.

So. What do u suggest. Shall switch to PM role now as a fresher.. Or just switch my sde job. And join a nice org and see if i am liking it or not..?

What would u suggest. I am more of like a creative person, one who likes to communicate and, interact. And less of a person reading between of line of code..

Hey! It’s completely normal to feel this way early in your career. If coding and DSA aren’t your passion but you enjoy problem-solving, creativity, and communication, product management could be a great fit. That said, sometimes the team and tech stack play a big role in how much you enjoy your work, so switching to a better dev role might also help clarify what you really want.

If you’re seriously considering PM, start exploring product fundamentals, work on side projects, or try getting involved in product-related tasks at your current company. Also, joining a community of aspiring and current PMs can provide support and guidance during this transition. I’m part of such a group

Had started my career as a android developer for 2 years. Was fairly good at it. Went for a MBA from IIM K and joined a fintech startup as a PM. Around 5yoe PM now

Keep regretting on and off how life could have been as a developer.
