Waiting for an offer letter

I got a verbal confirmation that I have gotten selected, however, now the HR said the offer letter confirmation will happen only after two weeks as there is an audit going on in the company. However, he asked me not to drop my current offer. Does this mean that they'll not get back to me with the offer letter?
