If you can do it then go for it.
If you do it due to pressure and then think or crave or regret about the food then you shouldn't go for it.
You can skip the vrat and just chant some mantras or visit the temple.
If you can do none of them then also it's fine.
Just ensure you are not hurting anyone or causing problems for anyone intentionally.
