A friend of mine works in Deloitte, She says they have something called Voluntary Roll off by which she can stop working for a project and opt to look for another project.
I work in TCS and after years of resistance managers have developed the decency to ask the employee before allocating to a project.
Voluntary De-allocation is something that is unheard of by tcs employees.
