VLSI DOMAIN advice

I am from ECE background, taken a layout design course online and aspiring to be layout engineer,Please suggest how do I need to prepare for interviews(like what are the basics I need to revisit from my branch that will be helpful), what will come handy from my course in real time, and how do I connect with TDs to highlight my resume.
