Hello Fine Viners- it's been 2 months now that I am actively looking for a job change. Have faced instances where the HR calls me regarding the scheduling of the interview, but vo hota hi nahi hai! Even if the interview is scheduled, I don't get an update post that call. I have rejected 2 offers (there are solid reasons to do so) and have been rejected from 2 :(
LinkedIn and IIMjobs are on a constant battle on who will give me the most rejection emails or updates.
Anyways, I am getting a bit worried lately and wanted to know from ya'll, IS HIRING EVEN HAPPENING!?

What If I tell you. It's not humans who are rejection you. You are being rejected by AI.
Most of the rejection mail that you get are because your resume is not matching with Job Discription, Atleast 75% Match is required for ATS to suggest your resume to real recruiter.
Start making custom resume for every job you apply.
Use any AI tool like ChatGPT to get match Percentage between your resume and Job Discription. Copy paste both things and ask him to tell your will ATS select this resume.
Many People will tell you it's a number game so keep applying more, that's also true, both ways work. Either you can apply to select job (30-50) with custom resume, or use apply to hundreds of job with generic resume.

Would advise you to look at stable set ups, and early stage recently funded start ups for roles. Only way is to push referrals and build your network. Market is tough but hiring is happening...issue is huge mismatch in demand and supply

Experiencing the same for month and a half. Been through a lay off and now looking for a new opportunity. Even before scheduling interviews, many companies are just flying away. I'm holding hard not to decrease my CTC, which itself is standard by all means.

What will happen if you decrease your CTC for a while? You take the job and parallely keep looking. If you get a higher pay - you can leave by notice payout or in probation. Why do you need to tell your CTC to recruiters? Just deny.
