If you have variable pay in the current CTC let it be, if you have to switch to another company just never accept variable pay. Why because you know the reason.

I was unaware of such thing back then and at the time of offer the HR cleverly said 2 Lpa we are keeping as variable pay so total CTC will be as you expected. Now I know, that is a trap and the real one was 2 Lpa less than what I expected. They can stop paying variable pay at any point in time giving reasons like company performance etc.

If ex 1 lakh is V.Pay technically a company has to pay 25k quarterly but if company performance is not up to the mark then they are not gonna pay 25k instead they might pay lesser amount, it doesn't matter if you work hard or not.
