Vacations turned expensive!!
I have been trying to spend a weekend away from the city chaos, trying to plan a week long vacation. The prices are baffling. Have you all faced the same? If it's a farmstay or homestay the charges are 8k minimum per night. Checkin at 1 checkout at 11. Not even 24hrs. Any domestic vacation is costing atleast a lakh for 2 pax. I personally feel that is alot of money. Views ?!

Absolutely, here in Maharashtra everything has become very expensive. Tolls, light bill, liquor, vegitables, hotels. I live in a tier 2 city. Going out to decent restaurant costs same as much you would pay in 5 star in thailand or bali. 2 years ago I booked a hotel in dubai for 3k a night with breakfast. And it was very very good hotel. But in my city very cheap hotels demands at least 2.5k that to very very cheap hotel. Decent ones go for 8k to 10k per night at least. Even our American clients were surprised when they visited the city stayed in a hotel and visited some restaurants.

I can relate to this. Recently, 5 of us went to igatpuri from Mumbai, for a 2 night stay. The stay itself cost 23k, which although costly was the cheapest available option for a homestay. The funny part was the homestay food cost which was basic and yet cost 15k.

It looks like you don't have any experience with travelling. I can find some god hotel or stay at just 2-3K for a night that can accomodate 4 person🙂.
Also, plan trip in offseason only.. don't plan between 15 dec-10 jan
That's crazy

Only if you wanted to all so called "vibing places" which most ppl go to,
You can go to some infamous hill stations or ride a bike along with ghat round and go for treaking......
Like there are no places in the entire india....... There are great places in the east part of India, Which Indian ppl only don't want to go, So they have cleanest Village awards

Go to Kashmir, Most beautiful place. Currently it’s very cheap also, and you will get good deals on hotels, etc.

The best thing is don't plan in Peak months like December and January
Because everyone plans at the same time so that's their actual peak business time.
