Urgently Need advice - Offer with 50% hike but stuck with 90-day notice period 😓

Hey everyone,

I could really use some guidance from folks who’ve been through this.

So, I’m about to get an offer with around a 50% hike. During the interview, I mentioned that my official notice period is 90 days, but I could probably get it reduced to 30 days — just to make sure I didn’t miss the chance to interview.

Now, the company is ready to roll out the offer letter, but they want to know my final joining date before putting it in the letter.

Here’s the catch: I don’t think my current manager will agree to reduce my notice period. We deployed our project about 40 days back, and now it’s mostly support work with no major dependencies on me.

I’m a bit stuck and unsure what to do:

• Should I talk to my manager first about early release, or resign first and then ask? • Realistically, what are the chances of getting the notice period reduced in such cases? • Can I pay to buy out the remaining notice period? Will earned leaves help in reducing it?

Would really appreciate any insights or experiences from seniors or anyone who’s faced this before.

Your help means a lot — I don’t want to lose this offer because of the notice period. 🙏

Dont tell about your offer or intent to resign but go on extended leaves and they will leave from project and once on bench just resign......

First take the offer and then do whatever you want to do. Quite sure next company will understand

If you can provide some medical documents on your immediate dependencies. You can put papers by informing the manager and hr. I wanted to resign based on medical emergency at my home

One trick talk to your supervisor for release and if he will surely deny it. So stop working from the office and continue skipping the client and other TCS meetings. Lower your digital profile and make sure you submit resignation. They will surely expedite it as they don't want others to hoard now.
