<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Project release>>>>>>>>>>>>
Hi everyone I need your help/guidance/advice. I have been in a support project for the last 2 and a half years. In this project when I was allocated I was promised that after 18 months I will get released and need to serve this much time. After spending 15-16 months they changed rules and said to everyone that policy is changed and everyone has to spend a minimum of 2 years in this role only after that you will be getting release or internal movement.
Soon after this was announced all of my seniors in the team who were yet to complete 2 years were asked to spend 3 more months and given a tentative release date. Management forced them to spend at least 2.5 years in my project. Soon after that many of my colleagues started giving resignation only a few of them got released. After that when I was close to completing 2 years in my current project I got to know that one of my seniors whose release process was going on has been asked to serve now 3 years in the current role in the same project stating that this is tcs policy change by hr and everyone needs to spend 3 years now onwards. My colleagues who got betrayed by management started doing less work but nothing happened management did nothing and hr action warning was given to them by management.
Now I have completed 2 years and 5 months in my project watching this. I didn't discuss anything related to my release I know it's better to switch but due to lack of skills and doing this copy paste nonsense work for this much time I am unable to do that now. Now I need your advice if I should wait for three years in my current role and ask for release/internal movement or should I prepare for another companies/role. If anyone can help me with the official tcs policy about project release that would be great. If you're reading till this line thank you for your time also leave your experience/suggetion.

Upskill yourself and switch bro.. Don't trust TCS Management

Pls refer HR policy on relocation and release. They are lying to u. We need to serve 18 months only in one project and 2 years in one location. Show them the policy screenshot and ask them. But ultimately, ur manager is the one who approve ur release so go in a diplomatic discussion rather than being harsh

I am also struggling for project release my manager has stated they will give spot release if I get new project but when I asked them to give release they said that due to less resources they can’t give me release don’t sit quite if you want to release ask for it
It doesn’t matter to them about you they just need the work to be completed ask for release or else get proceed with resignation process
Support project don’t give you release very easily

Bro a genuine advice!
If you are getting an opportunity outside pls switch.
TCS is a very good organisation, but the parasites , so called “Management” and orthodox senior citizens sitting in higher positions and the most favourite employees who are born lickers made the environment so poised that its best to ignore everything and start looking for new job , coz they know that “ EMPLOYEES GHANTA KUCH UKHAAD PAENGE”
And that’s bitter truth .
Exactly bro 🥲

Ask them to show the policy as thete is no such policy by TCS and ask for release and get a better project and upskill and then resign.

Bro same to same mere sath bhi hua. I have asked them to give me release from project since all the project work can be even done by college students also, iss copy paste work k liye engineer q chahiye, but they didn't give me release so finally I have to take release by myself by resigning dusra option nahi tha, so basically in tcs release=resign. So better aap bhi prepare Karo and switch karo instead moving internal teams q k agar release mil bhi gya internal team movement bhi ho gya fir bhi kya pata Aisa hi copy paste work mile. So better prepare and switch asap.
Yes bro will plan for this now.

Upskill and resign. But that doesn't mean you don't work on your release now. You do both parallely. But honestly, after release what is the next step. Hope you have plan of action for that.
