[URGENT] Need Advice on Joining Infosys from Another City & Transferring to Kolkata
I’m a full-stack developer (Node.js, React) with 4 years of experience, based in Kolkata. I recently received an offer from Infosys for a Node.js developer role. However, HR informed me that Kolkata is not an available location right now, even though a new DC has opened here. I am the only earning member in my family, and my mother, who is unwell, is fully dependent on me. I shared this situation with HR, but they mentioned that if I cannot join from another location, they will have to stop the process. I’ve been unemployed for the past month due to a layoff, so I truly want to take this opportunity. My question is — if I join from Hyderabad, is it possible to transfer to Kolkata within 1–2 months? Has anyone experienced something similar or knows the process?
Dada, we both know that transfer is not possible in short time because once you are deployed it will depend if that engagement has odc location in Kolkata..
Btw you were laid off from which company in Kolkata?
I was laid off from a start-up, but I’m not comfortable mentioning its name right now. Even though I have all my mother’s medical and recent hospital documents, is it still not possible to change the location?
Not sure about transfer... But... Afaik.. if the project doesn't require you you can attend from any DC.. and also if that's not available.. with hybrid work you can just go 10 days office straight, and rest of the days you can go back to Kolkata back to your mother.
