Urgent: I am going on long medical leave to get release from the project

Hi friends. My manager is not releasing me stating they are not getting my replacement. I am already suffering from anemia. So I am submitting the medical reports and going to apply long leave. I spoke to my manager. He is saying you apply the leave I will approve. I will release you after completion of your leave. I feel something is fishy here. I suspect he want to hold me after my leave. What if he doesn't release me even after exhausting all my leaves and LWP. Please suggest

Is your project T&M or FP? If it's fixed price, the customer is bound to pay the agreed amount during the contract signing irrespective of the contractor going on long leave. If it's a time and material, the customer will not pay the billing unless it's explicitly mentioned in the contract to pay. But there are cases, when customer needs a contractor, they will give billing during the absence too. I think you're project is too toxic focused on billing, not on employee well being. Do you belong any of the BFSI project?

My TL told me it is a FP. That's why he didn't release you. This TL is a manager chamcha. I didn't understand what FP mean when he said. I told to my manager repeatedly I don't want to join back. He got frustrated and told that's OK. Just go and apply for leave. I will release you later your leave. I am exhausting all my leaves for release. Still cazed here. No way out. Not understanding what to do. This project is extremely toxic. Made me work 18hrs per day still gave C band. I trusted my manager on release and appraisal. He proved a cheat

Everyone has their own challenges. You want to go out. Manager cannot get replacement, but still need to get the work done. He might have seen so many cases of this kind and he would have his own strategy to tackle the situation. Everyone is trying to save their a**. Its simply a pressure cooker but in different sizes. More you grow bigger the cooker😀. Higher the pressure.

Dude instead of all this hassle, just switch honestly... Not really worth the effort you are putting... I mean you are already sick and taking stress for nothing

As somebody mention, go on leave get some rest and prepare and leave...

Prepare a bit during long leaves and switch, if still no offer, join back and don’t work …stay in ofc exactly 9hrs and shut down after that…in 9 hours prepare for other job

Do one thing, utilize the resources like Udemy, linkedin learning and fresco play and upskill yourself I know you will laugh, as already you are spending 18 hrs at work. How come? Trust me that's trap TCS keep.. they don't want you upskill that's why they keep giving tough targets and tougher manager. Bear for some time Trust me, you will get a better opportunities outside when global turmoil settled down. Drop ur papers and show your middle finger to them
