Trending @Capgemini; Updates from our account/BU HR

There was a call with our account/BU HR today. We bombarded the HR with all kinds of questions. Below are their responses

  1. 6 hours isn't official as per policy. It's only ADVISABLE to stay for 6 hours as it MIGHT be popped up during your hikes/appraisals.
  2. BTO Exemption requests are now handled directly at the BU level. An internal doctor checks your reports and based on that your request will be approved.
  3. As per policy it's now 3 days a week & 12 days a month. But again, if you are incompliant, it might just be checked during hikes/appraisals.
  4. There is no clear criteria for promotions. They had no clue in the meeting as to how promotions are decided (Kinda dodged the question actually!)

And then some other generic stuff I didn't even care about!

It's better to work from home any way they will not give hike

true that, but at least try to go for few days in a month. Because the job market is still not good and it's better to be safe than sorry

Any plans of increasing from 3 days to 4 days a week?

And what about reporting to base location vs nearest location.

3 days to 4 days - no, nowhere did they mention it or I didn't even hear it from anyone. So worry not.

Reporting to base location vs nearest location - the BU HR that took the call had base location as Hyderabad, but has been working from Kolkata since Covid! Even my manager does the same. 4 of my account people do the same.

For bench ? Is it same i just joined i wont get any hike this year or maybe other have total 3 yoe so can i be non compliant?

For bench people in my project, the BU is asking to report 5 days a week actually - which isn't aligning with the policy. But again, the consequences could be that it'll be linked to hike or you'll be put in PIP.

So from what I understood, there's no concrete structure that even the HR knows. I would advise to just go for a few days at least!!
