So, this is basically a process to remove employees from the company. No, you will not be put on bench, but removed from the company.
Once you get a negative review in BOTP/PIP, you will be connected by your HR and manager for one last time. You will be asked to put your resignation or else you will be terminated from the company. If you refuse to put your papers, then they will very politely tell you that they will be giving negative reviews when the BGV team from the next company contacts them. In short, you have no options but to put your resignation.
After this you will have 1 month, which is like a notice period. Although you will be paid for 3 months.
So, if you are in BOTP/ PIP, you better start looking for a new job.

Some managers are shitty here they don't care about ruining someone's career. First they do nothing and then all of sudden management asks them to put their resources into some project then also they won't do anything to help juniors but at last they put them into BOTP citing any useless reason. And then from nowhere they will arrange a meet with you and say u have to resign now only.Poor management as well as seniors.
