Those who have started using this app have realised that you dont have an option to connect with professionals on a personal chat, this might prove to be a hindering factor in the growth of this platform. In today's world where all message and social media applications allow users to cold text the other person I feel that this option should be available on grapevine as well. After all, we are just one cold text away from a new funding or maybe a marvellous job offer. So guys do your best and help us get this message across to the developers. Up vote and comment as much as you can.
I can understand that but there are also issues with this when there is no limit to how many times we can ping or message someone such as many people asking for a referral from someone in big tech companies.
Also I don't we already have the option to chat with others although limited to 5 times a month? - I myself have not used the option yet, so not really sure how many messages is the limit.
Yes the cost texting someone is 150 grapes. Gathering 150 grapes for each chat is tiresome. As referenced in my previous reply I'll again site the example of linkedin wherein you will be getting 1000s of messages for referrals, however its upto you whether you wish to read each of them or ignore. Over here people will have to waste time gathering 150 grapes which could result in an opportunity being lost. As a finance professional you would agree that opportunity cost is something that you always consider when making estimates. Interpret these grapes as opportunity cost.

Yes the requirement is 150 grapes, I find tiresome in comparison to LinkedIn which also a professional platform which allows you to cold message anyone for a referral. It was my cold message to a partner on LinkedIn which got me the internship at EY.
