I've worked with more than 15 IAS officers, and anedoctally NONE of them were interested in serving the country.
In fact 5-6 of them were chasing me for guidance on GRE to get the govt sponsored higher ed degree from an Ivy League, and then fuck off out of the country.
IAS is the worst thing to happen to an independent India.
