This is the time (Jan mid to feb mid) when managers will be asked to nominate few folks from JL5 and JL4 level even JL6 sometimes. Actually this year it’s seems to a bit late. Every DM had X number of slots, I am assuming that X number is determined by unit budget and average historical lottery selection rate. Once DM gets priorities from all managers he will drop a few if nomination are more than slots.
For these folks GI team will initiate the form in the internal visa portal . You will get the link and asked to fill few basic details. Once you submit form GIvteam will submit it to USCIS. On April 1 they will do a lottery as there will be atleast double the applications than h1b slot. If you are selected in lottery GI team will inform you and ask you submit lot more details including your skillets, JD and other bunch of docs forms They will submit the complete form to USCis before June 30th. Now again uScis can either clear or fail or ask for more details in application. After trump later two have higher probabilities for infosy employees If selected post October you can go for stamping. Again a small chance of rejection here which will increase under trump
If your location and Clint is same where original h1b was filed then no more complications. But this year they put travel ban on even such cases. That was more due to infosys high bench in US. If your location and client not same again an amendment which has to be filed before you go for stamping and eventual travel. This amendment again has posibbility of rejection but you will not lose your h1b slot. After few months it can be filed for new clients/ location. Infosys generally will not allow stamping till project is not confirmed but there have been exceptions last few years. There are many currently in infy who have h1b approved and some even visa stamped but unable to travel. As clients don’t want high costs and they can anyway make you work in India up 12;00 am or more. So ops have dwindled
