Understanding maternity policies!
Hey everyone!
I am a Chartered Accountant working in a Big 4.
On the personal front, I am now looking forward to being pregnant in next few months. As I spent 5yrs in the same organisation, it would be easy to be pregnant staying in the current company. However, I am not happy with the compensation here and have also been looking forward to move into a strategic/corporate dev role. I feel quite underpaid in my current job.
I cant delay my pregnancy and I might feel guilty about stepping into a new company/role and going on a maternity leave. Also the policies should allow me to take a paid maternity leave. My notice period in current company is 3 months and I havent given any interviews yet.
Looking for your suggestions and experiences to understand how I can navigate through this situation better. Also would like to know how are the policies around maternity leave in other organisations? Is there a requirement of an employee to be working for a year in the organisation to be eligible for maternity leave?

Forget compensation if u're planning family think that. Stay in ur current organization do all family things as u have already given 5 years. It will very easy for you to get wfh, other benefits, switch I would suggest you to avoid as one needs to again build up relations and prove one ability. You even loss the focus of getting pregnant going to new organisation. Better idhar hi ruk...
