
Underpaid Despite Top Performance - Need Career Advice
I'm a Process Automation Developer with 6 years of experience, currently working as a BPO3. My performance has been consistently excellent, receiving 'A' band ratings for 5 consecutive years, with another expected this year. Within my two-person team, both of us are likely to receive A bands again.
Despite my strong performance, I'm significantly underpaid at 5.8 LPA. While this is better than my peers who joined with me (still at 4 LPA), it's well below market standards. Even with the expected 10% hike after my next A band, my CTC would only reach about 6.5 LPA (approximately 40K in-hand monthly).
Current challenges:
- 90-day notice period making job switches difficult
- Working with proprietary technology only available within TCS
- High project dependency in current role
- Limited growth despite consistent top performance
I'm considering three options:
- Request a transfer from BPS to IT
- Push for promotion to BPO4
- Serve notice period and explore opportunities outside
For those who've been in similar situations: What would you recommend? Is this a good time to make a move? How can I leverage my consistent A-band performance for better compensation?

My advice, convert from Bpo3 to it. They will give C1 I guess, then give wings 1 and become digital. Wings 1 is comparatively easy from wings 2. After that ask for C2 promotion. U can easily reach 10/12 LPA

if you have theoretically learnt few stuff - try to look outside market, apply for some outside positions, and see what are they looking for…. I wnat to ask if you have ever tried it to guage market requirements??

I'm trying outside as well. No one is even interested after hearing the NP

Buddy, I'm also getting exploited. I'm the only person handling the tool. My team mate is working on a different automation tool. I even have to monitor on weekends. Even after this much hard work I'm highly underpaid.

Option 1 - BPS to IT Ask for Pay Revision. Not sure whether DCA is recommended now

Tried wings 2. Even for aspired role they asks for handson experience. There was no option to choose which is relevant for my experience. All the hard work done to complete 3 powerplay got ruined
