Anyone else who's facing glitches with Uber and Google maps?
Google Maps nowadays is showing longer routes for the same destination and because of this Uber charges extra. Eg: a cab ride <100 bucks is now costing 120-150 just because of the longer route taken.
Is it a glitch or an implementation to charge more?
As per new update, it might be using fuel efficient route. It might be due to that. I wonder if it is actually saving fuel for some route.
It’s optimized to get the fastest route, not the shortest. Longer distance traveled equals higher fares, although if you’re stuck in traffic on the “shorter” route, you’ll still be charged for waiting time
